We are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people who want get involved with our community and help MYPN continue to Connect, Learn and Grow!
The MYPN is generally targeted at the 18-40 age bracket but is open to all members of the community who show a passion for this group within Mildura.

You will be working with a diverse range of people from a variety of backgrounds, and being on the committee is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about yourself and give back to the community.
Committee Position Outlines

Chairperson

- Provide leadership and guidance to the committee and members

- Chair committee meetings when present

- Ensure those present at meetings are accomplishing the purpose of the MYPN in an orderly, professional and lawful manner

- Produce the MYPN e-newsletter

- Pursue opportunities for MYPN and network with the community for the benefit of MYPN’s strategic direction

- Represent MYPN to the media in conjunction with the Public Relations Officer

- Work with the Secretary to prepare agenda package for committee meeting

- Work with Membership Officer to welcome new members
-
- Work with Membership Officer to maintain membership and network databases
- Coordinate and maintain a MYPN Committee succession plan
Deputy Chairperson
-
- Oversee the Chairperson’s responsibilities when required
-
- Oversee other committee members’ responsibilities in their absence
-
- Succeed the Chairperson when their maximum time in the role is reached
- Can be applied for in conjunction with another role when total number of committee applicants is low
Treasurer
-
- Undertake all financial reporting and processes
-
- To assist the MYPN Committee in understanding the finances of MYPN
-
- Organise and liaise with auditors to prepare end of financial year reports

- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to MYPN committee

- Develop financial systems and procedures

- Prepare and monitor the annual budget

- Ensure the MYPN Committee is aware of any key financial events, trends or concerns
- Experience in Accountancy or Financial Advisory is preferred but not required
Secretary
-
- Work with Chairperson to develop Agenda packages
-
- Coordinate and notify committee members of scheduled meetings and distribute Agenda packages

- Take and distribute accurate minutes including record of member entry and exit during meetings and distribute minutes and actions within 1 week of meeting held

- Complete statutory reporting requirements

- Clarify key points in discussion and create an Action List from each meeting

- Maintain records, copies and back ups

- Assist the Chairperson and committee with annual review of documents including: MYPN Rules of Association, MYPN Nomination Pack and other documents as required.
- Monitor the MYPN P.O. Box and notify MYPN Committee of relevant correspondence in a timely manner
Membership Officer
- Welcome new members and provide encouragement to attend events and suggest other relevant networks
- Prepare and maintain membership packs and distribute to new members within one week of membership approval
- Manage and maintain membership and network database
- Coordinate feedback from members
- Liaise with members/potential members to promote the benefits of being involved in MYPN and/or the MYPN committee
- Work with the Marketing & Public Relations Officers on MYPN community presence e.g.: promotion of MYPN at farmers markets, at local University etc.
- Prepare a monthly report outlining all membership activity for the month at each committee meeting
- Liaise with the Treasurer to ensure membership fees have been received for each membership application.
Marketing Officer
- Management and maintenance of MYPN website and other Social Media (e.g. uploading events, posting relevant material etc.)
- Consult to the MYPN committee regarding advertising and promotional opportunities and coordinate approved projects
- Coordinate MYPN Corporate Image and produce collateral as required (e.g.: signage, brochures etc.)
- Produce promotional material relevant to MYPN events as per the information provided by the events officers
Public Relations Officer
- Communications – prepare press releases and other communications in conjunction with the Chairperson
- Work on the MYPN community presence e.g.: promotion of MYPN at farmers markets etc.
- Engage and form relationships with local businesses to create opportunities for events (sponsorship, venue use, assistance) and to become part of the MYPN member’s rewards programs.
- Working closely with the Treasurer, source and apply for funding opportunities for large scale education events for MYPN members. E.g. apply for the Mildura City Council Community Grants.
- Engage local businesses to provide prizes for MYPN events, i.e. Gift vouchers.
- Engage with local businesses to partner in MYPN events. E.g. invite Mildura Newcomers to the Australia Day Cruise
Events Officer
- Facilitate the coordination of the MYPN event calendar (including annual planning)
- Create and maintain an event proposals system
- Receive and assist with coordinating event proposals to present proposal including costing at committee meetings
- Implement and maintain event management procedures
- Provide guidance and assistance to others coordinating events
- Keep a record of all event reports and collect feedback as required
- Work with the Marketing Officer to promote events
- Provide a report outlining all events held at committee meetings
- Keep an updated record of planning and logistical considerations and relevant contacts following events that are held annually (e.g Australia Day, MYPN Ball) to assist future committees
Constitutional Advisor

- Ensure the MYPN Committee is kept up to date on governance and regulatory issues

- Coordinate insurance and liability requirements

- Assist the Chairperson and committee with annual review of documents including: MYPN Rules of Association, MYPN Nomination Pack and other documents as required.
